Hilltop Halloween Carnival and Fundraiser Race

Jayhawk Audubon Society Birdathon Committee

The Birdathon is a JAS fundraising event where participants can scan Douglas County and outlying areas for a 24-hour period to count and record as many bird species as possible. Sponsors pledge donations according to the total number of species observed by either an individual or by the Chapter as a whole. JAS uses the proceeds to benefit local conservation and environmental education projects. Volunteers are needed to secure pledges and participate in counting bird species. National Multiple Sclerosis Society MS Walk Volunteers

Volunteers would assist with pre-event planning, securing donations, recruiting participants, etc. The day of the event, volunteers would staff rest stops, mark the route, set-up start, assist with lunch, walker check in, finish line greeters, medical volunteers, etc. Training is provided. Strategic Learning Center Run in the Sun Interns

Run in the Sun is a 5K event which normally takes place in late May. Interns are responsible for coordinating the event by securing donors and sponsors, organizing volunteers, and working on publicity. Other community outreach efforts are also helpful. The intern will make calls to local agencies and help with donor reception to be held in late spring. The intern is needed to work 5-10 hours in this fundraising capacity.
